A box that lies in shadows,

Buried deep within my soul.

To hide the pain and heartache,

And keep it always in control.

The hurt I cannot deal with,

The pain I cannot feel.

The betrayals that would consume me,

A heart that cannot heal.

A mask upon my face,

Of indifference or joy.

A constant ache within my chest,

That cannot be destroyed.

Keeping others happy,

No matter what the cost.

A heart forever broken,

A soul forever lost.
